SPCA of Puerto Vallarta

Well we are almost sold out for our spring fundraiser so get your tickets now while they last.  Don’t forget this event is totally underwritten by our founder, Janice Chatterton, so 100% of the proceeds go directly toward our rescue efforts.

Our spring fundraiser “Beauty and the Beast” will be held on Tuesday, February 19.  Plan on joining us for a delicious champagne brunch in The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar in Casa Kimberly.  Doors open at 11:00.

We are delighted to have designers Cassandra Shaw (Cassandra Shaw Jewelry), Renee Perez (Maracuya) and Brenda Conde (Tanina Croche) with us to showcase some of the latest fashion and jewelry trends of the season.  In keeping with our theme we will also have a few special guests stopping by to say hello!

Tickets are available at the SPCA table at the Olas Altas Farmers Market, by contacting the SPCA (spcapv@gmail.com) or by stopping by Hacienda San Angel between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday.  Tickets are 595 pesos each.

Please note that as the fundraiser is on a Tuesday, there will be no tour of the sanctuary that day.  All our volunteers will be at the fundraiser.  Hope to see you there!

Be sure to stop by and say hello to our terrific volunteers who staff our “booth” at the Olas Altas Farmers Market. While there be sure and check out the merchandise we have available for a nominal donation.

Thanks so much in advance for your purchases and donations. It is a win-win for everyone! When you make a purchase you are making a donation to our organization to ensure our continued success rescuing the abused and abandoned dogs here in Vallarta.

Please note that our adoption fee is now $300 USD.

We have scheduled tours to our sanctuary, by reservation only, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have your own transportation, please let us know. To reserve a spot on a tour, contact us at spcapv@gmail.com.

We appreciate any donations you can bring for our rescues and if going to the sanctuary, please feel free to bring treats for the staff as they truly appreciate it. Those items we ALWAYS need include: collars, harnesses and leashes; toys and more toys! both stuffed and hard plastic (no soft plastic as they can chew off pieces and swallow); large towels; blankets; sweaters and coats; post-surgical cones (both the cone shaped and soft or inflatable donut ones). Our rescues are now fed a total raw diet so please refrain from bringing any dog food or treats.

The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption and healthcare efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals.

SPCA de PV or Sociedad Protectora y Compasiva por los Animales de Puerto Vallarta (Protective and Compassionate Society for the Animals of Puerto Vallarta) was founded in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico, in 2007 by a long term resident originally from California, Janice Chatterton.

We opened our unique sanctuary in January of 2012 on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta. We are a no-kill shelter and can house up to 130 animals at once. We rescue and find permanent homes for over 200 animals each year.

Our main focus is to rescue the abused, homeless animals from Puerto Vallarta’s streets and place them in foster homes in both the United States and Canada until permanent homes are available. We are not supported by the government, corporations, foundations or businesses. We fully function on private donations. Animals are often found living on the streets after being discarded and/or extremely abused. We devote ourselves to their physical and emotional rehabilitation and invite everyone to come and interact with the animals at our private shelter on our weekly escorted tours.
